vegas vegas vegas!

so relaxing and so good. we sat by the pool and ate gelato and walked around and slept.

it was glorious.

too rich for my blood.

this exchange just took place in the hermes store in the lobby:

me: excuse me…how much is that notebook?
saleswoman: that’s about two hundred eighty dollars.
me: ok thank you. how much for the hippo? (a small bookmark)
saleswoman: that’s a hundred and sixty.
me: for just the hippo?
saleswoman: (completely straightfaced) yes. it’s leather.

oh…well then. who knew that leather was the most mystical and rare of all materials.

viva las vegas!

we’ve now made it to sunny las vegas.

it was only a year and a half ago that we were here last…but it feels like so much longer! i hadn’t yet started at renaissance. now i’m about to start my second full year at south end. weird.

but regardless…we’re back at the bellagio and it’s as awesome as i remember. for some reaon it also feels super homey.

another thing this trip has in common with last time is that we happen to have gotten in a smidge late and i’m exhausted.

we went to the zoo!

things we saw:
1. a snake with two heads
2. a pooping polar bear
3. a panda sleeping
4. a panda sitting in a tree
5. an elephant getting a manicure while eating celery
6. a giant rhino penis
7. people on a trampoline
8. a giraffe sticking its tongue up its own nose

needless to say, it was an awesome day! then zack took me out for mexican food and to see the movie BRAVE.

i am sleepy now.
